JetBrains autonomous coding agent with the broadest IDE footprint in the category: 10+ JetBrains IDEs, Zed via ACP (live), Visual Studio via ReSharper 2026.2 ACP EAP, Air agentic IDE, open-source LLM-agnostic Junie CLI, GitHub Action + GitLab CI/CD automation. Reached GA June 17 2026 (left beta) with a rebuilt agentic debugger: IntelliJ debugger integration (breakpoints, step-through, variable inspection) and rebuilt on ACP. JetBrains Central (launched March 2026) adds enterprise governance — policy enforcement, audit, cost management, multi-agent orchestration — with Google Cloud, Anthropic, and OpenAI as launch partners (EAP Q2 2026).

SOC 2 Type II certified; AI Enterprise now GA for air-gapped/on-prem (Kubernetes/Docker, local LLMs, ZDR, SSO/SCIM, audit logs). SWE-bench Verified ~62.8%. Under active evaluation for JetBrains-native enterprise agentic workflows.

Monitor for: pricing-volatility cap active (credit-system change drove churn complaints; JUNIE-690/JUNIE-891 quota tickets open), no Junie-specific F500 case study yet.

Assessment

Status rationale

Assessed. Strongest agentic capabilities and deepest IDE semantic integration in category (IntelliJ rename refactoring + inspection suite during execution).

Reached GA June 17 2026 (left beta) with a real agentic IntelliJ debugger (breakpoints, step-through, variable inspection) rebuilt on ACP — a genuine capability differentiator that lifts autonomy to band-4 mid. Now Band 4 in autonomy (parallel/async + multi-agent orchestration via Air and JetBrains Central + agentic debugger), integration (GitHub Action, GitLab CI, Jira, automated PR review), and interface (10+ IDEs + Zed ACP + VS ReSharper EAP + Air + open-source Junie CLI GA).

Compliance held at 12 solely by the pricing-volatility cap: underlying governance is Regulated-tier capable (SOC 2 Type II 2024/25, air-gapped/on-prem GA via Kubernetes/Docker with local LLMs, SSO/SAML/SCIM, ZDR-by-default, audit logs), so the raw composite (~24) is capped to 12. Cap retained because the 2025 credit-system restructure drove sustained churn complaints and quota tickets JUNIE-690/JUNIE-891 remain open.

Promotion to Validated requires Junie-specific F500 evidence, pricing-volatility cap removal, and hands-on validation. RBAC/audit granularity still maturing ('strain at enterprise scale') per third-party review.

Watch for

Movement triggers

Upgrade to Validated if: named Junie-specific F500 production deployment confirmed, pricing-volatility cap removed after 12 months of credit-pricing stability, JetBrains Central reaches GA with enterprise traction, hands-on validation completed. Downgrade if: credit-pricing exodus materializes into measured churn, an unpatched critical CVE is discovered, community sentiment drops to negative (<=2), or reliability complaints become widespread.
